im gna blog abt something that ive learned from sunday school last week and it is survivng on Earth as a 21st Century christian and how to refrain from the PESTS. Political the politics today are getting more and more linient in sense of accepting sin as 'legal' in the law such as the current US president Obama letting the efforts of the USA Gay Rights Associations in demanding for their freedom prevail when it is clerly stated in the bible that homosexuality is an outright sin. Economical the economy is going through a serious downturn and during this time as we hope that many would come to the house of the Lord, many would turn to other alternatives to make ends meet such as going boarding the cruise ship for the weekend at the casino. if the economy continues to worsen for the next couple of years, many would start turning to gambling and with the IRs opening in the nxt few years to come, the poverty in singapore may even continue to increase. Social we are active socially especially for students like us who goes to school 5 times a week and meet up our friends often during the weekends and the holidays, it is actually the 2nd-most difficult aspect among the 5 to refrain from such as sex, violence, smoking and for less-serious cases such as spewing vulgarities and giving in to peer pressure by drinking alchohol. it is extremely difficult especially when you feel left out and far way from the ppl around you. however, the correct thing to do is to nvr stop turning to God in prayer coz He is indispensible and always rdy to talk you, His words are 100 times more precious than the lastest gossips in school, the hottest stars in hollywood etc. hence, when you feel like you are giving in to peer pressure, the first thing you must do is to turn to God in prayer. without His strength, resisting and fleeing from temptaion is practically impossible. Technological the latest ipod, iphone and the the $899 lenovo laptop that ive been dying to have. all this worldly possessions are simply just worthless and the internet is so dangerous that you may not even know that you accidentally click on a virus in disguise such as the current facebook virus around or maybe even porn. Spiritual the most important and the most difficult aspect among the 5 is spiritual coz there are so much conflicts among fellow christians, let alone conflicts among the non-christians. issues such as the gay pastor in singapore and charismatism which im really confused at the moment right as i dont know whether my church is being too stict or the charismatic movement is just plain wrong in conclusion, i just wanna say that in the 21st Century, we as the light of the world and the salt of the earth must not fall into the evil hands of satan and i will end my post with a verse. Romans 12:2 (KJ21) And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. |
